Wild Alaskan river with sockeye salmon and a guide wading in golden light

Alaska

Bristol Bay & Kenai Peninsula

Overview

About This Destination

Alaska's rivers are among the last truly wild places on Earth. The Bristol Bay watershed drains millions of acres of roadless wilderness, sustaining the largest sockeye salmon run on the planet and the giant rainbow trout that follow it. Fishing here is primal — big fish, big water, and a landscape that makes you feel appropriately small.

Tundra, alder thickets, braided glacial rivers, volcanic peaks, and vast wetland drainages that feed river systems unchanged since the last ice age.

What to Expect

  • Wild rainbow trout up to 30 inches feeding behind salmon
  • Multiple Pacific salmon species in the same river
  • Untouched wilderness with no road access
